Come enjoy a harvest of local films! Saturday April 2nd, 3-5pm at the New Parkway Theater, Oakland (474 24th Street)
We will be screening the following short films by San Francisco Bay Area documentary filmmakers.
Hey Mom by Carly McCarthy
A filmmaker's recorded phone calls with her mother are montaged with recent and old footage to convey their relationship with each other and with her mother's sobriety.
Fragile by Nilo Batle
Ex-convict Gil Batle, an artist raised in San Francisco, recounts his haunting incarceration experiences by relief-carving images on delicate ostrich eggs. Gil has been featured in CBS Sunday Morning, The Huffington Post, HiFructose, and many other media outlets.

A Native woman struggles to protect her ancestors' sacred sites and vows to establish a women-led urban Indigenous land trust with her allies. This film premiered on local PBS stations.
