Learn the fun of homebrewing during our Father's Day Brew Day. Learn from several homebrewers and see their brew gear. Great fun with dad!
Event Details
About the Event
This is an outdoor demonstration being put on by several avid club homebrewers at the same time and location. Each homebrewer will be brewing their own recipe on their own brewing equipment, so you can see all the variations.
Pre-paid e-tickets are required to enter. We are not open to the public.
Note: Proof of vaccination is required.
What you need to know
Things are casual and come-as-you-are. The event lasts 4 hrs. There is lots of time for socializing and learning as there are many natural breaks.
The event will be outdoors with proper social-distancing. We ask that you mask as you feel is necessary and remain vigilant around the brewing gear, since they will contain boiling water. We want to keep everyone safe.
Food is available during the event from our Bauernküche and can be purchased as an add-on item to your ticket. All of our beers and food items are made in-house, in a food-handling certified kitchen.
Note: We do not sell our beers nor allow them offsite, but we "sample" very liberally.
Who we are and what we do
Dahoam1516 is a private social club and school at an exclusive venue with a small private-label Brewhouse, Bier- & Hopfgarten, and numerous cozy outdoor seating areas. We are not a restaurant nor a brew pub, but we do pride ourselves on our classic Bavarian home-crafted beers and food and our friendly members who may be serving you.
We offer small-format classes in homebrewing and cooking with a focus on small-batch recipes and hearty Bavarian cuisine. We keep things simple, teach you the basics, and actually get you hands-on, so you can do this yourself at home later.
We also offer select social events at our unique event space several times a year.
Our classes are also available in a "we come to you" Experiences format for small groups. Great for an office teambuilding event or a unique extended family gathering. And our event space is available for rent for your special event.
We are not able to sell alcohol or allow it off-premise.
We do not have off-street parking but there is ample street parking and we are 1 block away from the AC Transit stop at Santa Clara. We ask you to always be considerate of our neighbors. When you exit, please be noise conscious.

Note: You may attend the class but cannot drink if you are under 21.
How to Find Us
Public Transit: We strongly support public transit. We are 1 block from the main public transit lines (Stanton St stop serves AC Transit Transbay "O" from Salesforce Transit Center and the "51A" from downtown Oakland, Park St., and Fruitvale BART).
Driving/Biking: We are half-way down the island on Lincoln Ave. If you are coming from Oakland and get to Grand St, you missed us. If you are coming from downtown Alameda/Fruitvale (Oakland) and get to Sherman St., you missed us. We are at "the Bend" in Lincoln. Stanton St is our nearest cross-street. We are a stone's throw from the Swell Bar and a few blocks from The Forbidden Island Tiki Bar. There is ample street parking along Lincoln Ave.
The Entrance: We are a little tucked away. We are down Powers Ct from the corner of Lincoln Ave and Powers Ct. At the corner you will see our sign, follow our Friendship Garden down to the Red Gate and the Maypole/Flagpole with the Bavarian and Alameda flags.
COVID Fine Print
Upon arriving, you will be asked your name and/or to show us your e-ticket (print out or on phone). Then we need to:
provide proof of vaccination;
have you answer some COVID-19 questions(4);
have you sign our COVID-19 waiver
Masks are encouraged but not required in the venue...use your "covid-sense."
Note: If you have been recently exposed to COVID-19 or even suspect it, please do not come....we are offering a 24-hr in advance full refund. Let's keep everyone safe.
Due to COVID-19, we are limiting our class sizes, limiting the number of tickets available, and asking people to keep to groups of less than 3. If you have a larger group, send us an email and we can discuss our other options.
