Description

Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker are previous owners of Pani E Dolci Bakery and Aubergine Catering. Their combined passions have been serving the Bay Area for over twenty years. Babette is their creation, an intimate café located on the second floor of the Berkeley Art Museum Pacific Film Archive at 2155 Center street in downtown Berkeley. Joan and Patrick have participated in the organic and sustainably sourced food movement since the early 90’s and are as committed to that ideal today as much as ever. “Living and working in the Bay Area makes it possible to provide our customers with the finest ingredients, support our local farmers and purveyors and continue to educate ourselves in the ways of doing business that enhance not harm our community and beyond.” Our goal with Babette is to provide a warm and welcoming space where museum visitors, students and teachers, neighbors and friends can gather to enjoy delicious food and drink, share ideas and build upon this vibrant community.
