We will discuss organizational structure, we’ll dive into different types of design ops roles and how they can help manage to design better products at scale. We'll look at how their teams create effective design processes that enhance transparency, how they set design standards and develop design tools, as well as how they define high-level strategy and connect people with opportunities.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Courtney Kaplan | Director of Design Program Management, at Facebook
After joining Facebook in 2013, Courtney started the Design Program Management discipline to help build a rapidly growing business design team. Today, she is the Director of Design Program Management supporting a team in the Ads and Business Platform at Facebook that has grown tenfold in 5 years. The DPM discipline has grown rapidly throughout Facebook Design with a focus on managing programs in onboarding, industry education, customer understanding, driving specific product teams in planning, execution as well as driving design standards and developing design tools.
She is passionate about building strong design organizations that leverage talent in all Design disciplines; while creating robust professional paths for a team of talented DPMs devoted to bringing (some) order to chaos.
Before Facebook, Courtney was a principal at Hot Studio in San Francisco leading the Program Planning team before heading up Client Development.
