Phil McGee & Friends:
Phil McGee is a rock, folk, and blues guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and singer from Berkeley California. He currently plays around the Bay Area with TONAL RECALL, a semi-acoustic trio that performs rock and folk classics featuring three part harmonies, and with Phil McGee & Friends, regular hosts of Grateful Dead Open Mic Nights at Ashkenaz. A veteran lead guitarist and keyboardist with Bay Area bands including 7th Direction and Deep Blue Sea, Phil has also played in tribute bands of the GRATEFUL DEAD and the ALLMAN BROTHERS. His groups have shared bills with the RADIATORS, the TEXAS TORNADOS, the SUBDUDES, MERL SAUNDERS, LITTLE FEAT, GEORGE PORTER and many other national acts. He has performed and guested with FREDDIE ROULETTE, FLOYD WESTERMAN, THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS, ZERO, STEVE KIMOCK, and MARTIN FIERRO. Steve and Martin appear on Phil's Electric Mix CD along with WIL SCARLETT, harmonica player extraordinaire, who has graced famous recordings by HOT TUNA, DAVID BROMBERG, and BROWNIE MCGEE. Will Scarlett and Martin Fierro are also featured on 7th DIRECTION's CD.
Joining Phil McGee are Friends Jim McManus (guitar) & Tom McManus (Bass), David Klotz on Keys, Rich DiBenedetto on Drums, and Anne Marie Praetzel on vocals.
