Ohlone College Psychology Club Speaker Series Mary Johnson: An Examination of Commitment Mechanisms By a Former Nun


At 19, Mary Johnson became a nun in the congregation founded by Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Hear her story of dedication to the group and her courageous decision to leave, after twenty years, in search for a fuller life. Johnson will read from her award-winning memoir, "An Unquenchable Thirst," and will analyze the commitment mechanisms groups use to retain members and discuss why it¹s hard to break free.
